Letting everyone know that I’m taking four weeks holiday, starting today. That doesn’t mean there won’t be any blogging – if I come across interesting things I’ll try to report them here – but what there is will probably be fairly short and sporadic. (Moderation might also be a bit slow.)
It’ll be a busy time when I get back, with the Israeli election on 27 October then November bookended by the United States mid-terms and the Victorian state election. There’s also a New Zealand election on 7 November, so there’ll be plenty to watch out for.
In the meantime you can check out the results from Sunday’s state election in Mecklenburg-West Pomerania, where the far right scored another breakthrough result, topping the poll with 38.2%, although they were comfortably outvoted by the combination of Social Democrats, far left and Greens. The three left-of-centre parties also won a clear majority in the Berlin city-state election the same day.
