The far right & the “Libertarians”

Australia's far right parties failed to make the electoral breakthrough that many expected. The Libertarian Party also does not seem to have done itself any good by joining their company.

It wasn't just the Coalition that had a bad election. The Greens lost ground as well, but with them there is more scope for debate about how bad it was and what went wrong.

Life gets even worse for the Liberals

In a shocking night on Saturday for the Coalition, it was the Liberals who did worst. Their National Party colleagues performed fairly well, and that won't help the overall task of recovery.
